Gordillo the queen that reigned 23 years

-In the Carlos Salinas period as president a important politician came to the history; Elba Esther, she had an important career in the Revolutionary Institutional Party whom governed Mexico for more than 70 years.

-She was a teacher that lived in Chiapas and her husband was part of the "guerrilla", she started very soon to be elected as Congresslady from the Upper and Lower chamber in different times. Her power started to grow and she even managed to be considered as the most powerful woman in Mexico.

-When the president Ernesto Zedillo, which was from PRI tried to get her out of the frame but he couldn't. Six years later when the National Action party won and Mexico started to feel a new mood of democracy the then president Vicente Fox and his wife Martha Sahagun started a very personal friendship with her that gave her even more power !

-The elections of 2006, that were almost a tie, made Elba Esther even more powerful because her candidate Felipe Calderon won and let her to work  as free as he wanted. The Education Secretary; Josefina Vazquez Mota started a media fight to take power away from her. But she failed and was even expelled from that cabinet office.

-But time passed and the ones that were sometime her fellas betrayed her. She was send to prison because she stold 2 thousand million pesos.
