Adoption

A man and a woman get to know each other. They like each other a lot, get clother, have sex. Some weeks later the woman realizes that something is not following the normal rythm. She buys some tests, goes to the gynecologist. She is  pregnant! She has a fetus inside her body, the result of an act, that presuppose the closest and most intim contact you can have with a person. The fetus grows, the woman feels it everyday, every minute. When she eats, she also does it for the baby, when she drinks, the baby drinks with her. The pregnant belly grows, gets bigger and bigger, she starts to feel the baby´s kicks and punches, to feel how it grows. The baby hears her voice everytime she talks, only her voice. They are together every single second for nine months. Than follows the birth, the baby sees finally the daylight. It sees the doctors, the hospital, but there is one person it does not see, not in this moment and maybe never. It´s mum. She adopted it.

Already in the middle age adoption was a topic the people discussed about a lot. For the Germanic, Celtic and Slavic cultures it was an absolute taboo. When the Roman empire started to influence their laws and tradition the their opinion about adoption started to change, too, owing to the roman traditions, where it was already legal to adopt. The next crucial event concerning adoption was the American civil war. Many children became orphans and meanwhile a part of them were used as farm laborers or household servants, some became part of a new family and were able to live the life a child is supposed to live.
But the enforcement of these laws was very tough. In 1923 only every fiftyth orphan was living in an adoptive family. From then on the society accepted it more and less than forty years later every third child without parents was adopted.
In the times from today the reasons of adoptions variate a lot. It is not only the solution, when the parents die anymore.
Many teenagers or young adults adopt in case, that they neither want to race the child nor to abort it. People adopt, when a couple get a child and later separate. Now for example the new stepmother could adopt her new houspand´s wife. Also child abuse can be a reason of take away and later adopt the child.
These are examples to mainly national adoptions.
But also international adoptions exist. International adoption is very expensive and needs a lot of time. It is a difficult task to chose the country the organisation and to go through all the paperwork, tests and visits you need to realize this idea. Organistations are leading you through this steps, but it is neccessary to travel at least once or several times to the child´s country, sometimes for weeks. The problem regarding international adoption is, that it is always done owing to business interests and it barely clear, if the child welfare is truely the most important aspect. It is even used as a new way of child trafficking and because of these it is often seen very critically to adopt international.
When an adopted child grows up it will sooner or later find out that it´s family is not it´s consanguinity. So during all this process of adoption all involved have to make one important decision: Should the child stay in contact with it´s parents?
According to the different circumstanceses this questions brings different arguments or problems with it. It is impossible to find a generel answer to this. Would the parents be a good influence? Do the parents even want to know their child? If it was an international adoption; would it even be possible to stay in contact? Every single human being has the urge to find out about his or hers roots, but not everyone has the possibility to do this. An other way of adotion is the anonyme adoption. Nobody know, who is the mother or the father, there are no documents according the child´s background, parents or family. This always causes many difficulties for the child.
And then, when a child finally arrives in its new family, having a new mother and a new father, is it even possible that a love arise like the love to a natural child? Many studies deal with this question. The result Hoffman - Riem found out in 1984 was that 60 out of 65 parents described their relation to the adopted child equal to the relation they had to biologic children. Only 4% of the fathers were described as "disinterested". All in all the relations are mainly similar to a normal parents - child relation.

Guadalajara

Guadalajara, Jalisco´s capital, was build in Februrary 1542 by Christóbal de de                 Oñate, comissioned by Nuño de Gúzman,    who conquered a huge territory in                the west part of Mexico.

The 1950´s

This decade was very important for the city! The governor from Jalisco Agustin Jáñez put a lot of attention to the education system. He built the new public        library and many schools in the city and the rural areas in Jalisco. He also          built the first bus stop in Guadalajara and so he made the start for the public   transportation in the city. They also built the stadium Jalisco.

The 1960´s

This decade was very tranquil and piecefull. The city was growing and                          developing and the did not have many problems neir with the government nor  with the politics. At first in 1968 political problems started. In other states                   certain groups started to plead for social demands, when in Guadalajara was             still peace.

The 1970´s

Alberto Orozco Romero became Guadalajara´s major in 1971, the time when                   the crisis started. The protest groups had also arrived in Guadalajara then and the piece, the production, the economy and all the human activities got in                  crisis.

The 1980´s

Romero´s succeser Flavio Romero de Velasgo could finally end this little urban war and remake the city´s peace. He also boosted the public works and even                 built the "Plaza Tapatía" for which he destroyed a huge part of the historic                   center. The next major Enrique Àlvarez del Castillo promoted the new bus                    station in Tlaquepaque.

The 1990´s

In 1992 they had to handle the big problem with the explosion in the reform     sector from Guadalajara, that was caused by gasoline in the drainage. All over these years they keeped improving the public works. In the same year the                   folks celebrated the 450´s birthday from the city. The Periferico got enlarged   and they finalized the two lines for the electric trains.

Over all these years Guadalajara went through alot! Today life there is                           tranquil even though there still exist places you should not go, or at least,             where you should take care a lot! I am still pretty new here, so I honestly do   not know all these places. They told me I should not go to "San Juan de dios"  by night and that I should not drive alone by bus in the dark anymore. But I     have to say, that I personally never felt really unsafe somewhere. In some                  places more in other less, but isn´t it like this all over the world?
The weekends I enjoy it a lot to go out with friends! Then we find the time we do not have in the week to talk, hang out or go party. Here in the city we              have an amount of places to go! I really apreciate this, because I come from a rural area and the next bar is nearly one hour away. (And it is even harder to    go there, when you -like me- don´t have a car..) I love the variety of the         places here in the city! If you for example go to Chapultepec you can find a      cozy little bar to chill out, next to a great club to party and dance all the                     night! But I´ll give you one advice. Take care by night on the weekend! Friday  and saturday night there are a lot of drivers, who are completely drunk! Even I know many people, who just don´t care to drive when they are drunk. It is a                high risk! Not only for themselves, but also for everybody, who is around them in this moment! The other day I saw an accident near Andares, where on                   friday night a small car crashed into a water truck, before a van ran into the                  car and pushed it even more under the water truck. The driver died. Later they found out that he was drunk and he just wanted to drive to some other party              by nigt. So please, don´t be irresponsible! When you know, that you have to           drive, don´t drink!
After a certain time living here in Guadalajara I thought that it would be                   important to know more about the city´s politic! Like in all the country the                    two main parties are PRI and PAN. PRI is the party of the institutional                         revolution. 1929 until 2000 all the presidents and all the majors from                         Guadalajara was provided by the PRI. Than PAN, a christian democratic and               konservative party gained power and even won the presidential elections in              2000 and 2006. Right now the major is Ramiro Hernández García, who is
provided by the PRI.

Ramiro Hernández García
Well, what else is important to know about this wonderfull city? Of course the 14th of Februrary 1542, the city´s foundation. In 2011 the Panamerican games found place here in Guadalajara and therefore they even built new sadiums!                 Oh and one more thing! When you come to visit Guadalajara you MUST eat a             "Torta ahogada"!! A tipical delicacy from the city!
Torta ahogada

Chapultepec

Who in our age has never went to CHAPU?? One of the                             greatest places to hang out with friends.                                There you can find an amount of nice coffees, fancy                                   restaurants, old and beautiful mansions and many stors.            Once a week there is a big tianguis, full with many crafts            that are very traditional here in Mexico.
But Chapu is especially in our age known as one of the best places to go out by night. Does not madder if you are                    searching for a tranquil bar or a animated night club to               dance all night you can find it in Chapu!
Twice a year a music festival takes place there and all the    streets are converted in one big party! The last time in april all the place around the "ninos heroes" statue was filled        with great music and hundrets of people dancing!
Chapu is always a great place to go and I think it is one of       the most impressive places here in Guadalajara.

So, now I am here since nearly nine months in the city of the Mariachis, the               Tequila and the famous "jarabe tapatío" and I have to say that I like it a lot!   Guadalajara is completely different than the place where I come from, but I                love it. I arrived here and everybody just came and talked to me even though  I was a stranger. A city full of friends I thought. But few months later I                     realized the other side of the people. I must admit that it is annoying and                 sometimes really unconfortable walking to the streets listening all the time             the claxons and nasty patters from some guys in the cars. I think now I                 realized that even when many Tapatios might be awfull with you in the                  streets in the moment you get to know them the mayority are great persons!

The CONCOMIC

On saturday I went to a comics exposition, the CONCOMIC. Before I was never really interested in comics, mangas, superheroes and all this stuff and I didn't know a lot about it, so I was excited to see what it is about. I entered into the huge Expo and the firsts that took my attention were the "Cosplayers". Cosplay is short for "costume play", and describes the art of wearing special costumes that represent a certain character from a fiction. They explained me that they took their characters from Mangas or Animes... Wait. There is a difference between Manga and Anime?! When I heard this two words I always thought about these japanese movies with these crazy guys with mousenoses. But now I know more! Mangas are the comics which are created in Japan in a style that they conformed there in the 19th century. The comics can be written about an amount of topics. Love, fiction, horror and many more. In contrast to this "Animes" are the japanese animated movies. And well, like the most of us know are the comics these books that show a lot of pictures and the texts are only shown in ballons or thought bubbles. With this basic knowledge I was ready to continue. All the cosplayers had great costumes! I think I recognized Esh from Pokemon and Inuyasha. At least I think they were them :) But next to them were also normal peolpe like you and me. There were a lot of movies , food and many shows. I was never in my life a comic freak and I never actually liked Anime neither, but the Concomic was a really great experience and for me like a visit to a foreign, fantastic world!! :)

Korea

Korea was a Japanese colony before it got devided after the 2. World War.  With the Red Army attacking in Manchuria and heading towards Korea, it was defined between the USSR and the USA that Korea would be temporarily split by the two of them before it would later be united as an independent nation. But north Korea is communist and South Korea democratic and a conflict arised that had ended in a stalemate. Because of this Korea never find a way to get united again. South Korea has been able to create a stable infrastructure and the people there can spend a normal life. But owing to the government and their manner of leading the country, North Korea became a country with a lot of poverty and the people there have no freedom of expression.
Especially in the last time North Korea had caused a stir with the threats they made to South Korea and the USA.
I think the North Korean government lost their common sense, because instead of improve its folks life standart it spends all their money in weapons and its army. The country needs to change its way of govern urgently or their financially and economic problems will soonly become even more dangerous for the country than they are already!

gym Univa

Every day we see it. The new gym from our school is nearly finished so we made a survey trying to predict how it is going to go with it. We asked one hundred students with the result, that 80% of them is going to use the gym! More than the half of the students is going to come three to five times a week and every fifth students is even so motivated to come EVERY DAY to the gym. But there are conditions. We still do not know if we will have to pay an extra cost besides the fee we pay for school. Twelve out of twenty students are expecting this, but only one of them would be willing to pay for it. Nonetheless 70% of the students is okay with the fact, that the UNIVA uses their money for the gym´s construction and as many think that all of us can use it, without preferences for special sport groups.
But when we already have so many motivated students in our school we asked them which way they prefered to work in the gym. The answer was clear. 80% would favor a work-out with the help of an instructor, so they would know better how to do the exercises. Lets hope the gym is able to match this claims. At least it does not have to worry about unmotivated students! Eight of ten students see next to the sporting part also the opportunity to meet new friends and to socialize.
And nearly all of us are sure that the gym will improve the school sport here!
After this survey I am sure it is worth and hope that it will work this good like it looks like now!
Good luck! ;)

Spring break

If you look around these days what do you see? Empty schools and universities, jam-full beaches, bars and nightclubs, that look all the week like on friday night and totally relaxed youngs! These are the first things you think about. But even when the actual reason for the spring break here in Mexico is "la Semana Santa", an religious celebration, a great number of the people here in Guadalajara just get one word in their mind: Vallarta! When the Spring break starts half Guadalajara take their stuff, make their cars ready to go to the beach. They drive the winding highway to the south-west until they see the beautiful ocean from Puerto Vallarta.
But with this amount of people the beach turns unfortunately into a place resembling more to an anthill than to a beach.
For the ones who like it to party on the beach and to be sorrounded by a LOT of people this might be a paradise, but the ones, who prefer a relaxing day on the beach, sunbathing and listening to the swooshing ocean, this days might be the worth for them to go to Vallarta.
But the good news are, that you just have to drive to the neighbour village to find exactly this relaxing and empty beach with the swooshing ocean. So you can even have both! The relaxing beachtime on day and the party toghether with half your city by night, just half our away.
I wish you a great spring break and hope you find the right place to spend these days like you want to! :)

Stress

Stress.. In our times you can barely find somebody, who does not have problems with stress! It starts in school, writing exams, doing your homework, keep a good relationship to your classmates and teacher. And as older you become as bigger and more complicated are the problems. How to deal with it and how to organize yourself to avoid it is important to know. In this interview I asked a teacher, who daily sees the students' and also his own problems, knows how to deal with it! :)
